iHerb Review and My Purchase Experience
Few months ago. Cozy’s mum mentioned that her Turmeric supplement has almost finished and said that Cozy had booked online for her before. So Cozy took up the challenge and started to take a picture of it and testing out the capability of image search by Lazada, Qoo10, Shoppee etc. However, the search result is not that good. So Cozy still had to manually key in the Brand Name – NewChapter and Turmeric.
There is one similar item in Lazada but the number of capsules is not clearly stated. The first image shows 30 and second image shows 120. Although nowadays, many can find supplements selling cheaper in these e-commerce platforms. As it was sold by various individual sellers or big players, it is difficult to check the authenticity of the products.
Thus, in the end, Cozy explored further and found iHerb, which Cozy previously had bought some items from sg.iherb before too and still had a account which was set up few years ago. Cozy is really a forgetful person. So Cozy dig further and checked that its origin from the US as an online store selling nutritional supplements and healthy products for many years. Since 1996, iHerb has already started distribution from the various centres in the US and Asia.
Do check out their products and their pricing are better than those sold in the pharmacies in Singapore. This is one thing that Cozy find it strange too that the supplements sold in Singapore are more than those sold in Australia or US. Even for some medications which is essentially for a lot of people, these medications can be found to be cheaper in neighboring countries like Malaysia.
SAVING TIPS:
- For new users, often there will promo code for 10% off directly from iHerb etc. So do a search for it. Last time I check the code is FDD409
- For existing users, there might be promo code too. For Cozy’s case, there was a Promo Code of 10% discount – 10LOYALTY. And with its own product discount, the total cost is similar to what have been paid previously for 2 bottles.
- There are some complaint of additional custom tax by some reviewers. For Singapore, the current tax rate 7% for total orders worth more than $400. So do take note and avoid buying more than $400 at one go, then you will be safe from the shock of getting a big bill.
The order was placed on a Sunday and iHerb has given an estimated date of arrival to be on 18th Oct – 22nd Oct which is a week time. However it was delivered much earlier on Thursday directly to the Cozy’s mum’s house via CJ logistics (Free shipping provided). So in total, it actually only took 5 days from online ordering to receiving the items. Cozy is impressed with the delivery time and the ease of procurement of health supplement from a reliable source like iHerb. Cozy’s mum has taken this supplements (this will be the 3rd bottle and 4th bottle), it seems to have some relief of her joint pain.
